Ain churches plan large summer enlargements in Alma

Several Ain churches will expand this summer to ease overcrowding as the city grows. The Baptist church contract went to Henry Soule for a 40 by 44 foot addition with two floors including a dining room and kitchen. a steam heating plant is expected, bringing total costs above 5000 dollars. The Methodist Episcopal church plans a 50 by street addition to double seating, extending to the east and adding a choir loft and vestry. expected cost near 20000 dollars, with construction set to begin soon. Declamation Contest at Alma High Echo Praised

The annual declamation contest at Alma High was among the best in recent years with Frank Notestein taking first prize for The Monroe Doctrine.
