Riverdale Elevator Burglary Claims Pay Envelopes
Riverdale woke to a real burglary at the elevator office last Friday. A thief entered from the rear, forced a glass panel, and pried open a cash drawer containing payroll envelopes totaling a bit over sixteen dollars. Sheriff Ennis called in Deputy Willett and a bloodhound, but the trail disappeared on village streets. Authorities suspect an insider familiar with the elevator’s layout and procedures.

Another Pioneer Gone Elwell Mourns Mrs Fullerton
Elwell mourns the death of Mrs Jane Fullerton nee Bragg born New Hampshire May 11 1840 who died at her daughter Eva Pugsleys home after years of illness and a broken hip from a windstorm incident. Funeral was at Pugsley home and burial in Pritchard cemetery. Survived by two children Fred in Jackson and Eva Pugsley of Elwell, three half-siblings and one half-brother.

Dog Frightens Horse Injuring Woman in Sumner Township
Last Friday afternoon Mrs Myron Pouer of Sumner township was driving home from Alma when a dog leapt from a farmhouse near Riverside dairy farm and barked, scaring her horse into a run. The cutter hit a cross bar, the horse bolted, and Mrs Potter was thrown against a telephone pole, injuring her. She was later taken home after treatment at Ross residence. The dog’s owner should prevent further trouble.

Stuckeys Return From Four Week Southern Trip to New Orleans
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Stuckey and daughter returned to Alma Sunday after four weeks in the south. They left January 28 and reached New Orleans via the Queen and Crescent route. He describes uncultivated lands, chilly days indoors, and decaying Spanish forts along the Mississippi River. On the return they visited Rev J. M. Wolfe in Chattanooga. Snow greeted them in Dayton, Ohio, and he arrived back with a Michigan cold to contend with.
