Scattergeor and Jacobs three years ago opened a jewelry and optical store in Alma. Through fair dealing and close attention they built a steady trade. Optical department has thrived, prompting purchase of additional instruments and appliances. A large advertisement this week invites attention.
A dune wedding centered at Dr G Wy Pritgle’s home united Chedr dasyhne Mullie and Wo A. Hyslop of Chicago. The ceremony occurred mid afternoon with a modest religious rite, informal reception, and town welcome. Guests included local residents and family from Chicago, with an August 10 reception planned to celebrate the couple’s union.
The annual meeting of the stockholders of Alma Senttarium Company will be held on Monday July 5th at one o clock p m standard time for the election of directors and other business. Absence in Europe noted by two major stockholders, meeting adjourned to Monday August 24 at 4 o clock p m local time.

A faded wartime tale recalls Governor Pingree aiding a weak prisoner. As guards pressed, a dying man offered money to help others escape. Pingree refused to take the money and urged endurance. The beneficiary later found life in Michigan, and the two men reunited years afterward for a warm visit with Lafayette Stevens of Stevens Gurgett.
