A Dublin coroner's inquest probed Nat Wright's death found in a woodland thicket after a Sunday meeting with Mrs. Chas Yate. Testimony suggested heart failure and no signs of violence, while Yate faced arrest on murder charges amid neighborhood gossip. The jury returned a verdict of death by heart failure.
Detroit Free Press dispatch dated Jones th reports Mrs Quimby confessed that her husband Elmer Quimby helped murder their two children about three weeks earlier. She said Quimby gave the poison and water, ordered the letter, and left before she finished, prompting her to seek neighbors.
M S Doyle, representative from Clinton County to the Michigan State Legislature, died after reportedly taking carbolic acid by mistake in the Hotel Wentworth Lansing room of Edith Manders. Doyle, born in Canada in 1842, was a prominent Michigan cheesemaking and farming manufacturer in Elsie. Manders was arrested pending investigation.
The School of Music at Alou College announces a spring concert featuring harpist Miss Helene Stone with soprano Mrs. Kingbor and other soloists. Stone, praised for tone and technique, headlines a program including Be Mine and Neapolitan pieces, with tickets set at 25 cents and seating at Hivins & Rhodes.
Miss Velia Sharp, graduate of the School of Music, will give a public recital in the College Chapel Tuesday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. standard time. She is assisted by Mir. Milliken, Mike Conat, Miss Howard and Mr. Bagley. The program includes Beethoven and Mendelssohn pieces, with works by Koven and others. Also announced is a Sunday excursion to Toledo hosted by the Ann Arbor Railroad, with a 6:00 a.m. departure from Albion and a round trip fare of 1.–6.5 hours in Toledo, touted as the prettiest city outside Michigan.
