Death of M. S Doyle in Carbolic Acid Incident

M S Doyle, representative from Clinton County to the Michigan State Legislature, died after reportedly taking carbolic acid by mistake in the Hotel Wentworth Lansing room of Edith Manders. Doyle, born in Canada in 1842, was a prominent Michigan cheesemaking and farming manufacturer in Elsie. Manders was arrested pending investigation.

Graduate recital by Velia Sharp in College Chapel Tuesday

Miss Velia Sharp, graduate of the School of Music, will give a public recital in the College Chapel Tuesday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. standard time. She is assisted by Mir. Milliken, Mike Conat, Miss Howard and Mr. Bagley. The program includes Beethoven and Mendelssohn pieces, with works by Koven and others. Also announced is a Sunday excursion to Toledo hosted by the Ann Arbor Railroad, with a 6:00 a.m. departure from Albion and a round trip fare of 1.–6.5 hours in Toledo, touted as the prettiest city outside Michigan.
