Alma College Commencement Delivers Truth and Honor

Alma College marks its thirty third annual commencement week with a bac calaureaté address by H M Crooks president. The speech urges students to walk in truth and uphold moral ideals, linking education to God’s truth and personal responsibility. Detroit All Stars to Face Alma Republics in Two Shows

The Detroit Colored State All Stars, reputed as the strongest colored team, travel to Alma to meet the Republics on June 17 and 18 on Republic field. Detroit’s fast squad has defeated major teams and just finished a title series with the Toledo colored club. Alma aims to counter with top pitching, Hagerman likely for one game and Sheriin for the other, with both games slated for 5:20 p.m. and local stores closing at 5 p.m. to accommodate the crowds.

Alma college honors three with Stillman and Brownell awards

Alma College announced three scholarship recipients Miss Lara T Miller senior and sophomores Marjorie MacCurdy and Frank Vreeland earning Stillman and Brownell scholarships. Miller received the University of Michigan fellowship with 400 dollar value and full tuition for junior year. MacCurdy and Vreeland received Brownell and Stillman awards respectively. Alma College to drop Kindergarten department next year
