Postponed Draft Physical Exam In Gratiot County
The Gratiot County Draft Board postponed the physical examination for draft entrants from class one to Monday at the Alma draft office. About 1,500 of 2,600 papers have been processed as registrants answer questions. The delay stems from questionnaire errors and a backlog at the Lansing district board over industrial and agricultural classifications. A new rule requires proof of marriage since May 1, 1917 to show it was not to avoid the draft, causing worry for some registrants.
