Board of Supervisors Convene in Ithaca with New Members

The board met in Ithaca on Monday with three new supervisors J B Nill W W Williams and K A Porter appointed to replace retiring members. EP Potter of Hamilton was named chair. On Thursday the county poor commission appointed Jerry Davis as superintendent of the poor farm by a 2 to 1 vote over Frank Pressey.

Runaway horse crashes into street front store injuring rider

On Movnday Inez a runaway harness horse attached to a buggy struck a light pole near Superior Street and Joe Scattengood's store. Brown was badly injured but is recovering while Hull escaped unhurt. The horse was unharmed except for harness damage.

New Year's Ball in Alma Draws Large Attendance

The Criform Kank company hosted a New Year ball in Alma with unmarried guests and a grand celebration ending with a late birthday tribute. Music by the hand drew praise, and the Ratbone Sisters provided supper. The evening was noted as a high point of pleasure in Alma.
