Gratiot county pioneer Ira Allen died at his Ithaca home on Saturday January 28 at 1 o clock. Born in Steuben County New York he moved to Gratiot with his parents at age twelve and owned a farm in Emerson before relocating. Surviving are his wife eight children including Grace at home Er Allen of Pentwater and Clyde Allen of Clare two brothers Ransom of Ithaca Philip of Farewell a sister Mrs Amelia Grow of Chicago. Funeral was held Wednesday at the home with Rev J Uk Cook officiating.
