A telegram from Ypsilanti reports Don Bell died at his home there the previous evening. Bell was a former Republic Track baseball team member who pitched and played first base before moving to the Republic Motor Truck Company in purchasing. He later returned to Ypsilanti and was a member of George W Myers Post No Dit American Legion. Midnight services will be held at St Marys Catholic church Christmas Eve with the church bell rung in Christ birth commemorations, followed by a 10:80 Christmas morning service. The public is invited to attend both.

Mrs Gossett Dead in Alma After Detroit Operation
Mrs. Gossett died after an operation in Detroit Survlay. She was well known in a large circle of friends. Born October 20, 1880 at Spring Lake Michigan, she married James Gossett in 1901. Survived by husband two daughters Mrs Rodney Burgess and Mrs Jack Galla, son Faye, father George Schwab Sr, three sisters and three brothers. Funeral in Alma conducted by Rev J Frank Jackson. The Christmas service at Presbyterian church drew nearly three hundred, with supper and a program including carols, the Christmas story, and Santa Claus. City post office to be open Christmas day 10 am to 12 pm. no city delivery. Rural carriers on normal trips.
