Henry G. Smh, a former congressman from Michigan's second district, died at his Adrian home after pneumonia illness. Born in Ontario County in 1886, he moved to Lenawee County at age three and graduated Adrian College in 1878. He campaigned for Zhoharkaly Chandler, served as Adrian city attorney, won a notable U S Supreme Court case against the 1S & MS railroad, and was elected to Congress in 1898. A W Wright of Saranac, Michigan, has sold his stake in Advance Thresher Co of Battle Creek as the giant merger with M Rumely Co of La Porte Indiana and Sout Company of Richton, Lind, completes. The Merge creates a new entity named the M Rumely Co with $22 million capitalization. Cash and stock valued around $4.8 million go to the venture’s organizers and local stockholders receive about $900,000 in merged stock.
