Form an Equal Suffrage Club at Alma

A large gathering hosted by the Woman's club at Mrs W A Bahlke's home advanced suffrage work. Delegates M Bistine and others reported from Grand Rapids while health and milk safety topics prompted petitions for pure milk ordinances. An Alma branch of the Michigan Equal Suffrage Association was planned with officers elected, and a general meeting notice to follow. Miss Cathryn Delavan died December 6 with funeral planned in Jonesville.

Alma Women Question Local Prices At Civic League Meeting

Alma high school student rescues girl from Pine River

Carl Bragg a sixteen year old Alma student rescued five year old Lele Keep from the Pine River after a plank bridge gave way. Lele and her companion Lena White were walking home when the swaying plank caused Lele to fall in. Bragg waded to the center of the river, swam to the girl, and brought her to shore. She was cared for at a nearby house. Bragg declined praise, saying he did what anyone would. Alma council to submit $60,000 bond for water works
