Fred Kemp Arrested for Local Option Violation
Fred Kemp, a noted St. Louis liveryman, was arrested last week Monday by Sheriff Convix and taken to Ithaca on a local option law charge. He appeared before Justice John W. Myers with hearing set for August 17. Bail was set at 500 dollars, posted by John Fields of St. Louis. Authorities allege Kemp operated a "blind pig" and sold liquor openly while under surveillance.

Death of Mrs Tinney of Alma Dies at 59
Mrs Caroline Tinney of 12 Euclid Ave died Friday after a paralytic illness that began August 6. She would have turned 60 on September 9. A longtime Alma resident, she is survived by a son whose burial is in Lacrosse Wisconsin. Funeral services were held Monday at the house, burial in Riverside Cemetery, conducted by Rev Clanp.

Falman arraigned in Detroit for local option violation

Wreck on Denver Rio Grande near Husted claims ten lives
A Denver Republic report describes a head on collision on the Denver and Rio Grande railway near Husted station, thirteen miles from Colorado Springs. Ten people were killed and many injured, including Prof F E B West of this city who rode in the car that narrowly escaped the wreck. The Denver paper provides two pictures of the disaster.

Mrs. A. A Hodgkinson Dies After Long Life
Mrs. A A Hodgkinson died last Tuesday night at about eleven. Born December 28 1815 in New York near Watertown she lived a Christian life as a Baptist. She married Albert Hodgkinson September 30 1872 in Newton Michigan and moved to Alma over thirty years ago. Surviving are Ed in Tenino Washington Florence in Penama California and George of this city. Funeral Friday at 2 40 PM at First Baptist Church with later burial Riverside Cemetery.

Vermuelen residents packed the Alma Vaudette in the Vermuelen block for opening night hosted by owner Charles Fishback. Woman Injured in Stair Fall at Messinger Store

A Delightful Outing From Albany to Alma by Auto
Glen Fisher brought Mr Richardson's Stoddard Dayton car from Albany to Alma last Saturday. The Richardson family used the car on their return trip visiting Lennox Manchester Vermont the White Mountains Poland Spring Portland Boston and many other New England towns before returning to Albany.
