Howell Chosen for Michigan Tuberculosis Sanitarium Site

Michigan will place its fifth eastern state tuberculosis sanitarium at Howell Livingston County. The 190 acre site near Howell center is valued at $6000 and sits 1100 feet above sea level. Board of trustees met last week with officers including Dr. Harvey J. Harta and G W Teeple present.

First Circuit Rider Banquet Acknowledged In Alma

The Golden Jubilee Banquet in Alma celebrating the first circuit rider to Gratiot County drew 468 guests at the Alma Springs Sanitarium. Rev Clarence E Hoag led planning with a strong Methodist committee. Speakers included Rev French of Lansing and W A Quayle of Chicago, whose Faust address kept nearly all in place until dawn.

Death of Mrs L C Wright in Alma Iowa

Mrs Wright died at her home in Alma on Thursday April 10 after a five year illness worsened five weeks prior. Born in Shavenville Ohio she was about 54 years old and came to Alma in 1875 with her husband. She leaves a mother Mrs Ferris a husband a son Harry G Wright of Youngstown Ohio and three brothers. Funeral was Sunday at 2 PM at the Methodist church with Rev E Hong officiating.

Pleasant Surprise for Cicero High School Instructor

In Cicero, a class at the high school planned a surprise for Miss Clark, arranging a room spread with original songs and recitations. When the hour came, Miss Clark was summoned and greeted by surprised, but happy pupils, reflecting goodwill between teacher and students in the city schools.
