Berman Married in Chicago Last Sunday
Mr KB Berman of Alma and Miss Ida Ligh of Chicago were united in marriage at the bride’s father home on Sunday evening April 2, 1918. John Degroft born in Pennsylvania in 1842 died at home in Arcada on April 4 1916 after a stroke on March 17. He married Phoebe A Wickersham in 1860. they had ten children three decades ago he moved to Gratiot County where his wife died. Funeral services were held at Alma Methodist Church with Rev. Brownlow officiating and interment at Riverside beside his wife.

C E Bonesteel died at his Wheeler home aged 69. Funeral services were held at the Wheeler M E Church. He came to Michigan as a young man and settled in Wheeler in 1880. He married Thirza E Holdem in 1874. four children were born, one son died in infancy. His wife died in March. He remarried Viola Sexton who survives him. He was a devoted church worker and resident of the community for many years.
