A Jolly Vacation and a Summer Proposal
In a Wayback village on Independence Day eve, journalist Vandyke Brown endures a noisy youth scene at Briggs Tavern. After a perilous pond rescue for Doris Vanvarre, she is saved from flames when Brown shields her with his coat. Tommy Briggs’s mischief and a race of fireworks culminate in Brown’s betrothal to Doris, sealed amid a festive, chaotic morning.
