Mothers Club of Sacred Heart Names Committees for Year
Sacred Heart Mothers Club in Texarkana held a Tuesday meeting in the school auditorium led by Mrs. Charles Harvey. Rev. C E Mc Tamney opened and closed with prayer. A memorial to Mrs T M Young honored her long service. Committees formed include social room mothers membership telephone and program chaired by Mrs A J Butler Mrs J Edward Sheehan and Mrs Martin Patterson. Attendance exceeded fifty with a third and fourth grade room count win. Sacred Heart Academy grades 1-12 taught by Ursuline nuns.

The enrollment this year is 207 with 52 in the high school. Last year the Dads Club formed to sponsor a sports program and outdoor activities. A junior football team named The Mighty Micks was fielded and made a good showing in its first year.

The Dallas Deanery formed the Deanery Council of the National Council of Catholic Women on Aug 19 1947 in Sacred Heart Cathedral School Hall Dallas. Over 200 women from about 50 organizations and many clergy outlined goals for Christian action through retreats, discussion clubs, international relations and civic service.
