U S soldiers defending a new camp northeast of Saigon repelled a 300 man North Vietnamese attack. The base, three days old, saw 38 enemy killed and three GIs dead with six wounded. Three hours after the assault, attackers pulled back as guard units held the perimeter.

Lewis Jr.
Gregory Gray, a senior at Emerson High School in Gary, is elected the 32nd governor of Hoosier Boys State, becoming the fourth Black leader in the event's history. He defeats Federalist John Jenkins on a unity platform and begins his term Thursday. Ben Park wins lieutenant governor. other state offices go to Walt Henry, Stephen Parkins, W. Robert Horton, Rob Ayers, and Dan Zieg with 927 voters.
