The Tarborough Press outlines weekly publication at two dollars and fifty cents per year in advance or three dollars at year end, with monthly options for shorter terms. Advertisements under a square cost one dollar for the first insertion plus twenty five cents per continuation. longer ads follow proportional pricing, with court orders and judicial notices at twenty five percent higher. Notes require postpaid letters to the editor.
In February 1839 S Grantland forwards letters to Hon Edward Stanly regarding a Globe article by A Duncan and the speech of Stanly on Dr Duncan and the New York customs case. Included are statements from J Jackson G W Hopkins A Stuart J Garland and others praising the fidelity of the reported speech and recounting the exchange surrounding the debate.
Washington letters defend the accuracy of a January 17 1839 speech report in the National Intelligencer. A. Duncan denies delivery. witnesses attest the remarks were extemporaneous and faithfully recorded. Correspondence from S Prentiss Richard Cheatham and others to Edward Slanty discusses the debate and timing.

He refuses to be angered, questions the critic’s sanity, and wishes him leisure to practice with a broad sword and clarinet.
A Globe report condemns nearly a hundred bills matured in the Senate as sacrificed to partisan aims by the House majority led by Wise Prentiss Graves Bell Stanly Slade. It promises details of defeated measures and notes the coalition’s record of vetoes and burying good laws.
A nine or ten year old boy, son of Mr C C Henderson, died after an accidental gun discharge while he held the weapon. The tragedy occurred Saturday about a mile from town, with the death reported Monday.
A Stage driver named Casper fell from his seat on the box and broke his neck on the route between here and Rutherfordton. He was not believed intoxicated. Also a Miss Whitener died instantly when her horse ran away and she was dashed against a tree after church. Lincolnton Rep.
