In a 1839 dispute, Dr. Duncan claims a Senate reply by Mr. Stanly was not delivered on the House floor and alleges it appeared only in the National Intelligencer. Duncan cites letters from H L Tourney J Bynum and Bly Moore confirming the time and conduct surrounding the exchange amid accusations of misrepresentation and abuse.
A. Duncan asks Hon. A. L. Turney to report the exact time Mr. Stanly of North Carolina spoke in reply on January 17, 1839 regarding the defalcations of Samuel Swartwout.
