Taos Poetry Circus Opens With Native Focus
Taos Poetry Circus kicked off with Tiwa drumming and flute, featuring 16-year-old Lakota poet Erin Bad Hand whose powerful piece Lover drew questions about love and loss. Weather challenged performers as rain and hail persisted, but audience participation grew with round dancing and spirited rhythms from Robert Mirabal.
