Restoration of La Santisima Trinidad Church Celebrated
The three year restoration of La Santisima Trinidad Church in Arroyo Seco was celebrated on Sunday June 7. Bishop of Duran granted permission in 1826 and the church completed in 1834. The church retains its original floor ceiling and earth a mica wall finish applied with sheep pelts. Over 500 attendees attended a parish feast after services. Archbishop Michael Sheehan presided the blessing and a new altar was consecrated. Deacon Michael Kittredge and Fr Vincent Chavez stood with the Archbishop as the hat of the Archbishop was fetched by a dog during a gust. Linda Archuleta carried the bulto in the saints procession.
