Questa Field of Honor draws widespread veterans respect over Memorial Day
Wilma Martinez calls the Field of Honor in Questa an overwhelming success with 1000 flags honoring veterans especially Vietnam veterans. Attendees included New Mexico officials Governor Bill Richardson and NM Veterans Secretary John Garcia, plus state reps and National Guard leaders. The event featured a 21 gun salute, mariachi performances, a helicopter flyover, and moving remembrances linking Gulf War and Iraq veterans with earlier conflicts. Many attendees vowed to return next year.
