Saints rescue drama as boy revived after freezing night
In a high altitude trek near Tres Ritos, a group of rescuers known as the Saints pulled 5 year old Christopher Graves from a creek at 3:15 am after he disappeared Monday afternoon during a family hike. He regained consciousness with a low body temperature and was saved by the Taos Search and Rescue team led by Ray Piper. Christopher asked to be called Christopher again and identified with his favorite song When the Saints Go Marching In. The boy’s father Mike Graves credited tracking, others praised the rescuers efforts. Authorities said hypothermia nearly claimed him. the family had reported him missing around 1:30 pm Monday.
