The Taos Community Foundation rewards 7000 in Youth Participation Initiative grants to six groups including Rocky Mountain Youth Corps DreamTree Project Taos Talking Pictures and Evolving Creative Opportunities Arts Center Each project must involve youth in planning and execution and run through June 2001 Youth advisory committee members and Taos High School students helped select four funded areas graffiti wall Honest Information Series safe youth spaces and multimedia arts events.

Taos attorney Stephen Peterson sent a notice to Mayor Manuel Romero alleging that Questa Police Sgt. Chris Oskins arrested David S. Griego on Sept. 10 and again Sept. 11 at gunpoint without a warrant. Griego, 33, of Albuquerque, was transported to jail and hospital, then released. Eyler said Griego has seizures and was involved in a domestic dispute.
