Ex-area man stabbed to death in Essex House hotel
John J. Clark 40 formerly of the Syracuse area, now in Albany with Blackman and Elsary, was killed at about 11:30 p.m. in his hotel room at the Essex House in Manhattan. A woman, Doris Gilmore 22 of New York, was detained as she allegedly tried to flee from the third floor. Clark had lived in Liverpool, New York, and died at Roosevelt Hospital at 2:30 a.m.. a Syracuse company spokesman said he had been in New York for a business conference.
