Avowed racist Franklin seeks to overturn murder conviction

Avowed racist Joseph Paul Franklin, who briefly escaped before a life sentence was imposed, asks Judge Jay Banks to declare the murder conviction illegal. He was found guilty of first degree murder in the Aug. 20 1980 Liberty Park slayings of Ted Fields and David Martin. An escape during the penalty deliberations preceded his re capture.

Kennedy Jr Fined 108 for Tow and Tickets

Providence AP Kennedy Jr son of the late president paid 108 to retrieve his car after towing for unpaid parking tickets at Brown University. Police said the move is part of a crackdown on violators as officers seek about 100 people with more than 2,500 unpaid tickets. some have over 60.
