GAO faulted Pentagon on toxic site cleanup pace
Thousands of former military sites with contaminated soil and water or unexploded ammunition are being cleaned up much slower than claimed by the Pentagon. The GAO said the $200 million yearly program shows only about 32 percent of needed cleanup actions completed after 15 years and $2.6 billion spent, not the majority cited by defense officials.

Air Pataki's a cheap ticket in New York politics
Albany records show Gov George Pataki reimbursed taxpayers less than 2245 for state aircraft use over six years since 1995. Private schedules hide political flights, while Cuomo's 1994-95 aircraft charges totaled over 48000. From 1995 to 2001 Pataki logged 1231 flights on 687 days with partial reimbursements, prompting debate over cost and access.
