New York community colleges seek a higher cap to 2800 per year, a 300 increase, to cover rising costs while several campuses already raised rates in anticipation. SUNY officials note enrollment declines, especially among part timers, and warn the system must avoid cutting viable programs. Jamestown charges 2600 with 29 others under the cap. 10 exceed 2350 and above.
SUNY trustees consider raising the tuition cap from 2500 to 2800 dollars per year for all 30 campuses with campus by campus approval possible.
