Cayuga County Woman Dies in House Fire
Elderly woman in a wheelchair died in a two story house fire at 4431 Valentine Road in Niles Cayuga County. Caroline Shapley 75 likely the victim while husband Jim Shapley 75 was hospitalized with chest pains. Neighbor Donald O Hara described smoke and a fully engulfed home. Investigators were evaluating cause.
