Inmate hanged self at Auburn city jail
John Evanshak aged 22 of East Main Street Elbridge hanged himself in his Auburn jail cell early today police said. Evanshak had been arrested after his former wife Susan 21 Auburn reported trespassing on her property. He was found shortly after midnight with a red sweatshirt fashioned into a noose during a routine check by jail attendants.
