Quiet University area ends string of disturbances
City police report the University section was quiet overnight after weekends of unrest involving Syracuse University students and non students in the Marshall Street area. Officers on foot patrols were added at merchants’ request amid prior violence, including a large clash last Saturday injuring five SU students. None of the injuries were serious and all treated at Crouse Irving Hospital. Reports say roving youths have attacked pedestrians in the area in weeks prior.
