The National Weather Service forecasts partly cloudy and chilly weather tonight with lows around 40 and rural areas in the 30s. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny and warmer with highs 55 to 60, northwest winds 15 to 25 mph easing early. Rain chance remains about 10 percent tonight and tomorrow.
In Coopersburg Pennsylvania a tank truck ran a red light and struck a school bus carrying 52 kindergartners and elementary students. The tank truck driver Leroy Warner age 27 of Saylorsburg was charged with homicide by motor vehicle reckless driving running a red light and speeding. He was released on $10,000 bail.
Fourteen inmates sustained minor injuries as guards used tear gas and riot sticks to quell a second disturbance in two days at the Retrieve Unit near Angleton Texas. Officials said guards forced 190 inmates back to their cells about a half hour after the disturbance began around noon.
Albany AP reports the first night drawing in the state's daily numbers game produced the winning number 250. The result sets the early pace for the new lottery draw, with players watching for additional numbers and potential prizes in subsequent draws.

Six Houghton College seniors died in a crash near South Wales after their car failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a tractor-trailer. Victims included Joy Ellis of Watertown and five others from New York and nearby states while en route to Buffalo to collect costumes for Homecoming. Rescue crews freed bodies from the mangled Dasher as fire crews and deputies investigated. The tragedy marked the college’s homecoming week preparations.
