On the Syracuse University campus the Alpha Phi sorority mascot Alphi the cocker spaniel draws lively attention. Students and faculty stop to pet and photograph the friendly dog as part of campus life and sorority events.
Allen C. Ritz, Roilway Bearing Co. comptroller, will address French team No. 6 studying at Syracuse University on Wednesday at 504 University Place. He serves as Lighthouse treasurer and budget committee member for the Salvation Army, and is affiliated with multiple accounting organizations.
Louis Felice 59 of 829 Park Street died this morning at home. Born in Italy, he lived in Syracuse 35 years and worked as a cement finisher for D. W. Winkleman Co. Survived by wife Josephine Pelosi Felice two sons Jack and Vincent Felice three daughters Mrs John Enzerbe Mrs Charles Del Vecchio and Mrs John Marziale two brothers Edward and Nicholas Felice and two sisters in Italy Services Thursday 8:30 A M from home and 9:30 A M at Our Lady of Pompeii solemn high Mass of requiem burial in Assumption Cemetery.
Carrol A. Edson, manager, announced that Social Security Administration offices in the Chimes Building will be open all day tomorrow, election day.
The Planning Commission approved a conditional use by the Dominican Sisters of the Perpetual Rosary to build a new convent at 508 Court Street with a nine inch setback for the side entrance and waivers of street line and lot requirements. A separate approval allowed Mrs. Michael Seubert to waive a 6000 square foot lot area for a two family house at 214 Dale Street. An application by Skyline Apartments to permit tenant parking was denied on a technicality related to a previously approved plan.
THOMAS TUCCI, 47, of 221 Wiklumee, appeared in Police Court on a possession of lottery tickets charge before Judge William H. Bamerick. He was held on 500 bail for Police Court exam set for Nov. 7 after being arrested Saturday afternoon in a pool room on Salinast. Detectives found three rolls of money totaling $500.60 on him during a search conducted at headquarters in the presence of Chief Kinney and Deputy Chief Kelley.
Infant Rosemarie Dolores Simmons dies at 2 after hospital admission. Funeral at 9:30 AM at Joseph Farone and Son Funeral Home and 10 AM mass at St. Lucy's Church. burial in Assumption cemetery. Survived by parents Lee and Martolomeo Simmons, paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. Calling hours today 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Mayor Corcoran predicts Syracuse will surpass Rochester in voter turnout on election day despite Rochester having more registered voters. He credits the Good Citizens Voting Council, the Boy Scouts and the American Legion for mobilizing a large turnout.
A 28 year old Baldwinsville man Harry Norris Sutton faces drunken and reckless driving charges after a two car crash on Route 370 two miles north of Cold Springs Bridge. Sutton and co driver Philip Lanzafame were injured. Sutton to be arraigned before Justice Bruce Mover.

A string of grand larceny cases was heard by County Judge Leo W. Breed. Loren Tressler, 51, received terms of 7 to 15 years on two first degree counts for stealing two 1952 autos valued at 2,400 each from R. S. Robie Co. in July. Remaining sentences were suspended. Other defendants faced varied penalties including suspended sentences and probation for jewelry theft, rape, and theft from persons, with several cases tied to early Aug and Oct offenses.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a birthday all merged for Pvt. Duane Noyes of 1519 E Fayette St as his parents Mr. and Mrs. Glenn M. Noyes marked the trio at home. He reports to Camp Kilmer today for overseas duty.

H. HIRAM WEISBERG was reelected president of the Temple Society of Concord at the 113th annual meeting held in the temple social hall. Officers named include Alexander E. Holstein as vice president Ives Jacobs as treasurer and Tracy Hi Ferguson as secretary. Six trustees were elected for three years: Benjamin S. Arnold Edmund Port S. P. Solomon M. Howard Stone Henry J. Wilson and Moses Winkelstein. Rabbi Harry Essing of Grand Rapids Michigan attended as guest of honor at a premeeting dinner.
Nine year old Benjamin Musumeci, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rosario Musumeci of 623 Oneida Street Fulton, was pinned between the garage ceiling and his father's truck rack last Saturday. He is in critical condition at St Joseph's Hospital with skull and spine fractures.
Omaha resident George Vanous cursed as his car broke down and was stolen. The thief drove it eight blocks before the car quit in low gear, leaving Vanous both annoyed and amused at the quirky ending.
