Reaganites Seek Postponement of Nine-Digit ZIP Plan

The Office of Management and Budget sent the request to Postmaster General Bolger, citing Reagan's Feb 17 order to assess business impact. Assistant Postmaster General Walt Duka expects a reply by week’s end. The Postal Service argues the system will cut labor costs by enabling more mechanical sorting.
