Rain along the Atlantic coast shifts offshore by midday as heavy storms sweep West Virginia and Ohio. Temperatures push to near records across California Oregon interior valleys while 111 F tops Thermas California and 5 F dips Fosston New Mexico.
Oneida Onondaga lakes show west to southwest winds of 10 to 20 knots with showers reducing visibility. Finger Lakes winds from the west southwest at 10 to 20 knots with showers and lower visibility.
