A weather system sweeps the eastern United States with heavy rain and potential flooding while a separate storm disrupts power lines, leaving more than 30,000 customers without electricity, including areas around Denver and Colorado.
Strong storms were forecast from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast with locally heavy rain, gusty winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes in the Tennessee Valley and lower Mississippi Valley. Flooding risk loomed north of the Ohio Valley while isolated showers persisted in the Southeast. A fast moving system hit Colorado with power outages and flight disruptions at Denver Airport.
Forecasts for Oneida Onondaga Lakes show southeast winds 10 20 knots with reduced visibility from possible showers. Ontario region reports southeast winds 10 20 knots with limited visibility from passing showers. Finger Lakes area expects southerly to southeasterly winds 10 20 knots with showers likely and visibility reduced.
