National Weather Service predicts showers and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow with a 70 percent then 50 percent chance. Windy and partly cloudy with highs 70 to 75. Lows in the 50s. Continued rain chance Saturday then a chilly Sunday with scat tered showers and 40 to 45 degree lows, 60 to 70 highs.
AP reports two tornadoes struck Nghe Tinh and Thanh Hoa killing 76 and damaging or destroying more than 12,000 houses. A Sunday hour in Nghe Tinh saw winds and hail sweeping 57 villages in a wide swath of destruction.
Justice William Rehnquist refused to block the release of sealed records in the John Z. DeLorean cocaine trafficking case. He rejected an emergency request from DeLorean's lawyers to overturn a federal appeals court order mandating that some documents be provided to the news media.
President Reagan is close to releasing 75 F-16 jets held during Israel's Lebanon invasion. Officials say Israel and Lebanon agreed to withdraw troops and White House talks with Congress are underway to authorize the transfer.
