Henninger High School students win national Scholastic art honors
Lisa Mora 17 from Henninger High School won a gold medal for pottery Sun Pot at the 1981 National Scholastic Art Awards in New York City. Fellow Henninger student Vanessa Paccone received honorable mention for textile design. Westhill seniors John Haylor and Karen Capucilli are nominated in photography. Awards total include 413 gold medals and 674 honorable mentions nationwide. 90 tuition scholarships and 60 Hallmark Prizes. The national show runs June 10 to 30 in New York City's Union Carbide Exhibition Hall.

Rail Travels Talk Set at Central New York NRHS Meeting
Claude Starr will discuss Rail Travels in North America in a slide presentation at 7 30 p.m. at the Art and Home Center at the New York State Fairgrounds. The event includes an auction of railroad memorabilia and is open to the public. Starr, a former Conrail development representative and ex Penn Central and Lehigh Valley employee, has traveled widely on U S railroads.

Student Leaders to Confer at Henninger High Conference
Henninger High School hosts a student leadership conference tomorrow from 8 to 10 15 am. James Beach Henninger Student Council treasurer says five representatives from Fowler Corcoran and Nottingham high schools will attend. Local politicians will speak on student leadership in national government including Joseph Nivoletti Gerald Mingolelli and Peter Del Giorno. An interschools council to unite the four high schools’ student governments is planned.
