Frosty night ahead with scattered frost in valleys

Central New York faces clear cool conditions tonight as the National Weather Service at Hancock Airport warns of scattered frost in valley areas. Lows reach mid-30s with tomorrow forecast mostly sunny and highs near 60. Fair Wednesday with 60 to 65 degrees and showers likely Thursday and Friday.

Stocks plunge as money supply surge spooks markets

New York stocks opened lower as investors reacted to a surge in the nation's money supply amid fears higher interest rates. The Dow Jones average stood at 1,201.72 at 11 a.m., down from 1,218.75 Friday after slipping from an early 1,198. The Dow, which hit a record 1,232.59 on April 6, fell 13.84 for the week.

Bomb threat evacuates World Airways DC-10 at Newark airport
