On Board recruits disabled people for nonprofit oversight
Bonnie Shoultz of Syracuse University explains how On Board trains and places people with disabilities on human service boards. In a year and a half 12 locals and eight in Utica Rome trained, but only two placements so far. The program seeks boards open to disability perspectives and invites interested individuals to contact Shoultz.

Parents to run small group sessions at education forum
Neighborhood literacy groups partner with Syracuse schools to tutor and build a citywide action plan funded by the Gifford Foundation.
