County faces tax plan that would cut education aid
Albany reports Onondaga county would gain at least 23 million annually from a 1 percent sales tax increase but receive only 15.4 million in school aid, ranking it among six counties likely to lose under Gov. Carey’s proposal. Several upstate counties would gain little or none, while New York City would win a large boost.
