The Bikini bomb, first used ten days after its July 1 test, may become the standard size for future atomic wars. Dr. R. E. Lapp of the War Department predicts small bombs will dominate, arguing two small bombs can do more damage than one larger one. He cites potential city casualty estimates of about 50,000 deaths and 50,000 serious injuries per blast. Navy Rear Adm. Parsons notes weapons evolution and production challenges.
