Warm humid air continues tonight into the weekend under high pressure off the Atlantic. A cold front will slide south Sunday bringing showers and thunderstorms early next week, then cooler drier weather returns. Also notes planetary rise and set times for Moon and planets on June 30.
Rain was falling in Oklahoma early today as showers and thunderstorms were expected across the South through the day. Northeast regions remained cloudy but quiet, with overall calm weather anticipated despite continued rain in the south.
The extended forecast shows showers and thunderstorms across the southern Plains Gulf Coast Southeast and Florida with another storm system moving through the central northern Plains northern Wyoming and eastern Montana today bringing heavy rainfall and strong winds. A large Saharan dust plume travels west toward the Americas adding to air quality concerns in South Texas and the Southeast.
Forecast notes wind directions and speeds across lakes including Lake Ontario and Oneida. Tomorrow conditions show southwest to west winds ranging 6 to 16 knots with varying visibility from restricted to clear, waves 1 to 3 feet on Lake Ontario and clear horizon visibility on the Oneida streams.
