SU settles 11 year sex discrimination case out of court
Two women formerly at Syracuse University reach an out of court financial settlement ending an 11 year sexual discrimination suit. The plaintiffs Jo Ann Mortenson and Selene Weise had sought damages, reinstatement with back pay, and increased female representation. The university maintained the suit lacked merit and said the settlement avoids further litigation after a lengthy federal case that began in 1973.
