Orchestra score enhances film drama in Napoleon review
Earl George assesses Carmine Coppola's four hour score for Abel Gance's Napoleon, delivered by the Syracuse Symphony under Michael Zearott at the Landmark Theater. The review praises its grandeur in climactic passages and notes occasional coldness and weak post-Robespierre waltz, while commending the conductor and orchestra for syncing music to on screen moments despite acoustic challenges.

Dragonslayer review finds old style film with modern effects
The piece praises Dragonslayer as an old fashioned adventure with 1980s tech, focusing on Valerian and a sorcerer apprentice. It notes Mark Hamill’s absence, highlights Ulrich and a royal intrigue, and contrasts dramatic visuals with a Twainlike coming‑of‑age theme. The review warns the film skews adult, with vivid moments, but may lose younger viewers.
