Peyser Faces Doubtful Chance as PSC Chairman
Former Rep. Peter Peyser confronted sharp questions on his lack of PSC experience as the Senate committee grilled him for over three hours. Though he touted consumer input and open meetings, committee chair Sen. James McFarland called Peyser’s confirmation prospects doubtful with a possible Monday vote looming. Donald Ross of NYPIRG urged rejection to avoid patronage, while Peyser pledged broader public involvement and meetings in rate cases’ home areas.
