Sedgwick hosts Marsh Cup tennis kickoff with four teams
Sedgwick Central hosts the annual Marsh Cup as four teams from Sedgwick Buffalo Toronto and Rochester compete in an ETA sanctioned event. Sedgwick last won in 1953 fields top Syracuse amateurs including Dr. Dave Scamurra Peter Vlassis Jimmy Vlassis Sam Corso and Rich Carpenter. Toronto features Ted Cail and doubles partner Bob Bennyworth with team captain Ted Wedgbury. Saturday play begins at 9 a.m. with a 12 noon second match. Sunday offers 9 a.m. consolation and 12 noon championship. matches are free and open to the public.
