Former President Herbert Hoover sails back to the United States today ending a global trip to seek food for the hungry. The voyage, spanning multiple continents, aimed to secure relief for those in need during a period of global hardship.
U.S. Weather Bureau reports party cloudy and cool conditions into tonight. Tuesday's high 92s and low near 44 set historical extremes, with sunrise at 5 25 and sunset at 8 47. Humidity around 86 percent this evening and 71 percent in the morning.
Paris reports from French sources suggest a full dress 21 nation peace conference could be called for July 15. The 21 nation gathering may follow two more weeks of talks by the Big Four foreign ministers with a ten day interval before the conference if summoned. Molotov floated the idea that Italy reparations claims be settled by Yugoslavia Greece and Albania.
War Department and War Assets Administration plan to vacate the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse by late summer. Surplus goods valued at about 5 million dollars will be disposed of, with Syracuse University seeking to use part of the site for classrooms and dormitories for 1000 students.

Washington reports Brooks of Louisiana may oppose a compromise allowing limited drafting of 18-year-olds as a last resort after October 1. Rep Andrews of New York wired conferees to cast his proxy for the plan, reversing prior opposition. Brooks would not commit to voting for it.
Dr. Oscar Lange, Polish delegate to the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission, will present Poland's plan on atomic energy soon. An unnamed informant called the proposal simple and startling but provided no details. Lange may offer his views after the commission's second session, as rules of procedure are expected to be set this afternoon. Meanwhile Poland readies a new move on Franco Spain after Russia vetoed a proposal to refer the matter to the General Assembly. Lange plans further proposals to secure unanimous action against Franco's regime when the council reconvenes next Monday.
