Plane crash on Lake Ontario leaves 18 year old missing

The search for 18 year old pilot Gregory Parrs and his single engine Cessna 182 continued after the aircraft crashed into Lake Ontario four miles northeast of Sunset Bay. Sheriff Revel Todd said the recovery effort would continue and that they had not given up. Witness Ron Littlejohn described Parrs flying low and skimming near boats before the crash as the plane tilted and the wing struck the water tearing off the wing and causing the craft to cartwheel into the water. Par rs left Maxson Air Field near Alexandria Bay around 5 am Saturday en route over Watertown and the lake. The rescue effort involves Oswego County deputies and divers seeking the aircraft and pilot.
