Pleasant Weather Returns After Heat Record At Hancock

National Weather Service forecasters at Hancock Airport report warmer conditions tonight and tomorrow with mainly clear skies. A new high of 93 degrees yesterday surpassed the 1957 record of 90. Low temperatures dip to 50 to 55 tonight and 80s tomorrow. Rain chances stay at zero tonight and about 10 percent tomorrow.

Cyclist dies in Onondaga crash at West Seneca Turnpike

A 25 year old Fairport man Robert H. Martin Jr died after his motorcycle collided with a car at the West Seneca Turnpike Broad Street intersection in Onondaga town. He was pronounced dead at Community General Hospital. Driver Mark P. Jenson of Liverpool, 27, was reportedly uninjured. No ticket was issued by Onondaga County sheriff's deputies.

A morning fire on the middle floors of a 38 story downtown San Francisco highrise trapped about 100 people on upper floors during the rush hour. Firefighters evacuated residents as smoke blanketed the building and crews worked to control the blaze.

Bankholdup At Rochester Leaves Several Dead And Wounded

Police said two gunmen attempted to rob Security Trust Bank on Rochester's southwest side. One gunman fled after shots were fired. two others with automatic weapons held about eight people hostage inside. Police reported multiple injuries including two officers shot and uncertain conditions for others. A command post was established as authorities secured the scene.
